VARANASI, OCT 15: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath praised sanitation workers as the invisible foundation of society during a felicitation ceremony held at Saroja Palace in Kabirchaura, Varanasi. Stressing their year-round dedication across all weather conditions and festivals, the Chief Minister showered flower petals on municipal and Jal Nigam workers, personally serving them food and honoring ten staff members on stage with ceremonial stoles and gifts.
During the gathering, the administration announced stringent measures to protect labor rights, warning that severe legal action will be taken against anyone attempting to deduct the wages of sanitation personnel. The Chief Minister outlined new financial protections through the UP Outsourcing Corporation, guaranteeing a minimum honorarium of Rs. 16,000, mandatory ESI medical coverage, comprehensive insurance, provident fund contributions, and post-retirement savings benefits.
Addressing broader regional developments, the administration drew a sharp contrast between past infrastructural neglect and the ongoing transformation under central and state leadership. Reaffirming the state’s zero-tolerance stance toward criminal elements, the leadership declared that properties illegally occupied by criminal syndicates in Prayagraj and other districts have been cleared to construct high-rise housing complexes for marginalized communities and the urban poor.
