PATNA, OCT 15: State industrial capabilities received a significant boost as Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary inaugurated the Mega Leather, Footwear and Accessories Cluster at the BIADA Industrial Area in Mahwal, Muzaffarpur.
Built at a total investment of ₹140.95 crore, the newly established facility includes an advanced Common Facility Centre designed to provide shared technical resources and shared spaces for enterprise development.
Administrative leadership noted that the initiative forms part of a broader strategy to curb outbound labor migration by generating large-scale employment opportunities within the state before the end of the decade.
Officials emphasized that modernizing infrastructure, enhancing power availability, and promoting specialized manufacturing sectors are central to transforming the regional economy.
Chief Minister also stated that the development process was underway in Gaya and that efforts would also be undertaken to develop similar industrial clusters in Muzaffarpur and Darbhanga areas.
We are exploring plans to introduce rapid rail connectivity between Muzaffarpur, Patna, and Gaya to facilitate faster and more convenient travel, he said further.
“The proposal envisages improved high-speed rail connectivity from Muzaffarpur to Patna and from Patna to Gaya,” he added.
Urging industrialists to come for investment proposals in Bihar, the Chief Minister said that the government would examine such proposals and work towards formulating sector-specific policies within 30 days, wherever required.
“Government’s priority is not merely to receive industrial proposals but to ensure the actual establishment of factories in the state so that local people could benefit from employment opportunities,” the CM said.
He added that the state government was promoting MSMEs, large-scale industries, and other industrial sectors.
Accenting the Mega Leather, Footwear and Accessories Cluster as an important initiative for expanding industrial activity in Bihar, the Chief Minister underscored the need to promote investment, manufacturing, and employment generation. He also extended his warm greetings to everyone on the occasion of Navratri.
During the event, authorities also exchanged strategic collaboration agreements with technical institutions to support skill development and align workforce training with industrial demands.
