New Delhi, Oct 21: A Special Executive Magistrate in Delhi reserved an order regarding the judicial custody of Cockroach Janta Party leaders Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka following police requests for a three-day extension.
Law enforcement authorities produced the political representatives before the magistrate while sureties were formally submitted during the proceedings. Police agencies maintained that extended custody remains necessary following the initial detention of both leaders for allegedly accessing the denotified protest site at Jantar Mantar and breaching peace bonds.
Prior to the magistrate hearing, judicial authorities at the Delhi High Court declined to intervene in the ongoing custody arrangements. Judicial representatives maintained that the parties must await the magistrate’s determination before pursuing potential options through appellate bodies if grievances persist.
