Chandigarh, November 4, 2024: Haryana’s Minister for Industries and Commerce, Environment, Forests, and Wildlife, Rao Narbir Singh, announced the state government’s goal to position Gurugram among the top 10 cities in the nation.

During a meeting at the Municipal Corporation Manesar office on Monday, he directed local authorities to ensure high-quality construction at minimal costs and enforce strict measures against encroachment and polythene use.

Rao Narbir Singh mentioned the need for action to free government land from encroachment, instructing officials to impose penalties on shops and vendors using polythene and take action against suppliers.

He warned that repeated offenders could face penalties, including action against the responsible officials.

The Minister also urged engineering officials to prioritize cleanliness on roads and in drains, stressing that they should focus on on-site problem-solving rather than spending time in offices.

He ordered strict measures against the open release of sewage water and instructed officials to address untreated STP water disposal from private societies in Gurugram.

The Minister said that maintaining high-quality infrastructure, curbing pollution, and ensuring urban cleanliness are essential to improving Gurugram’s ranking.

He directed that violators identified in releasing untreated water be penalized per regulations.
