Fatehabad, Haryana – December 1, 2024: A private bus carrying over 50 pilgrims caught fire today in Fatehabad district, narrowly avoiding a major disaster. The incident occurred between the villages of Bropal and Dhangar, on the route from Azad Nagar in Hisar to Dera Radha Swami in Sikandarpur, Sirsa.
The bus, which was traveling with a group of pilgrims, suddenly began emitting smoke as it approached a hotel near Badopal. Preliminary reports suggest that the fire started due to a tire burning out. Recognizing the danger, the driver, identified as Amit, acted quickly, stopping the bus by the roadside and evacuating all passengers to safety.
Thanks to the driver’s swift action, no injuries were reported. However, by the time fire department officials from Fatehabad arrived on the scene, the bus was completely engulfed in flames and was reduced to ashes.
The passengers were promptly transferred to another bus and safely continued their journey to the Dera. The Fatehabad Fire Department has since brought the fire under control, and investigations are underway to determine the exact cause of the fire.
