PM Seeks Insights from Economists for Budget 2025-26

New Delhi, 24 December 2024: Prime Minister Narendra Modi convened a meeting with leading economists and industry experts, gathering their recommendations for shaping the Union Budget for 2025-26.

The high-level discussion featured key government officials, including Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, Niti Aayog Vice Chairman Suman Bery, and Niti Aayog CEO B.V.R. Subrahmanyam.

Chief Economic Advisor Anantha Nageswaran also participated, alongside prominent economists such as Surjit Bhalla and DK Joshi.

As Sitharaman prepares to present the Union Budget in the Lok Sabha on February 1, 2025, these consultations are seen as integral to addressing India’s economic priorities.
