Chandigarh, 3 January 2025 – In an effort to improve the delivery of public services and law enforcement in Haryana, Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has instructed all Deputy Commissioners to conduct weekly coordination meetings.

These sessions will include key figures such as the District Superintendent of Police (SP) or Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM), Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), and the Jail Superintendent.

The primary aim of these meetings is to boost communication and collaboration between the district administration and law enforcement agencies to enhance law and order. As Chief Minister Saini outlined, the meetings are crucial for formulating effective strategies to combat drug abuse and trafficking, as well as ensuring swift handling of public grievances.

“The coordination between district authorities and law enforcement is crucial for addressing issues like drug trafficking and public grievances in a timely manner,” Saini emphasized, noting that the meetings will provide a platform for strategic discussions and interventions.

Moreover, the Chief Minister has directed the Deputy Commissioners to document the discussions in these weekly meetings and submit a monthly summary report to the Office of the Chief Secretary at cs.coordination@hry.nic.in, ensuring transparency and accountability.

While the weekly meetings focus on strengthening administrative coordination, Saini also stressed the need for increased interaction between officials and the public. “Direct participation of officers with the public is vital. I have asked district officers to visit villages at least once a month to address grievances and ensure that solutions are implemented effectively,” Saini said.

In addition to this, Saini has called for continued compliance with existing directives given to Deputy Commissioners and Superintendents of Police regarding regular night stays and field visits to further bolster public confidence in law enforcement.

These initiatives reflect Haryana’s ongoing commitment to improving governance, public safety, and service delivery, ensuring that the state’s administration is both efficient and responsive to the needs of its people.
