Chandigarh, 26 January 2025: Two Chandigarh Police officers received the President’s Police Medal (PPM) for Meritorious Service as part of the 76th Republic Day honors, announced by the President of India.
Sub-inspector Baljinder Singh, who joined as a constable on November 19, 1987, was recognized for his significant contributions to police training and maintaining discipline. Currently stationed at the Recruit Training Centre, Singh’s long-standing commitment to enhancing police preparedness was acknowledged with this award.
Assistant sub-inspector Manjit Singh, who began his career as a constable on November 7, 1988, earned the medal for his pivotal role in improving road safety and managing traffic during his tenure with the traffic police.
Besides, inspector Jagroop Singh of the Mohali police received the Medal for Meritorious Service (MMS) from the Union Ministry of Home Affairs. Singh, attached to the Mohali CID unit, was among 15 officers from Punjab honored for their exemplary service.
