Chandigarh/Amritsar, 25 February — Punjab Power and PWD Minister Harbhajan Singh (ETO) expressed gratitude to Health Minister Dr. Balbir Singh for selecting Manawala, Jandiala Guru, as the site for the State Branch of the National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).
The decision follows a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between Punjab’s Health and Family Welfare Department and NCDC, New Delhi, to establish the facility at the Community Health Centre (CHC) Manawala in Amritsar district.
“I am thrilled that our government is prioritizing the health and well-being of our citizens,” said Harbhajan Singh ETO.
“The establishment of this facility will greatly benefit the local community, providing them with access to quality healthcare services.”
He added that the initiative aligns with Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann’s ‘Sehat Kranti’ and will enhance disease surveillance, outbreak response, and healthcare capacity in Punjab.
He lauded the health department’s efforts, calling it a major step toward a healthier Punjab.
