Telangana, 13 December 2024: The Telangana High Court on Friday granted a four-week interim bail to actor Allu Arjun, who had been arrested earlier in connection with a woman’s death during the screening of his film Pushpa 2 last week.

Arjun’s arrest followed the tragic stampede at Sandhya Theatre during the movie’s premiere, which left a woman dead and her son critically injured. A team from Chikkadpally police station apprehended the actor at his Jubilee Hills residence, later presenting him in a local court.

The court initially remanded Arjun to 14 days of judicial custody. Under tight security, he was transferred to Chanchalguda jail when the High Court intervened with the bail order.

The High Court emphasized Arjun’s responsibility to assist in the investigation while granting bail. “The investigation must proceed, and cooperation is key in such cases,” a court official noted during the proceedings.

The stampede incident has drawn widespread attention, as Arjun’s presence at the premiere is believed to have contributed to the chaos. The court’s directives aim to ensure accountability while respecting procedural fairness.
