Chandigarh, 10 January 2025 – Ashwini Chawla of Sach Kahun has been elected unopposed as the Chairman of the Press Gallery Committee for 2025 in the annual elections of the Punjab Vidhan Sabha’s Press Gallery Committee.
Journalist members unanimously backed Chawla, agreeing to his unchallenged appointment to the position.
Amit Pandey and Deepak Sharma also secured their positions without contest for Vice President and General Secretary, respectively.
In the presence of committee members, Pandey was declared Vice President, and Sharma was named General Secretary.
The Press Gallery Committee serves as a liaison between journalists and the Vidhan Sabha, advising the Speaker on issues faced by the press and recommending measures to improve their working conditions.
