CHANDIGARH, June 6, 2025 — The Palsora branch of Pingalwara Charitable Society marked the birth anniversary of its founder, Bhagat Puran Singh, on Friday with spiritual prayers and public service, including a blood donation camp and free medical care.
The day began with the recitation and culmination of Shri Sukhmani Sahib followed by bhog. A blood donation camp was then conducted by the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Institute, Phase VI, Mohali, while a medical camp was set up by the Five Rivers Foundation.
According to the inputs, the blood donation drive was inaugurated by the Chief Judicial Magistrate-cum-Secretary of the Legal Services Authority, Chandigarh. The medical camp was jointly opened by retired ADGP and Pingalwara volunteer Jatinder Singh Aulakh and P.C. Jain.
“Pingalwara has always stood for service beyond self. This branch carries forward that legacy every day,” said Harpal Singh, a social worker at the center.
Singh shared that the Palsora branch also operates a special school for differently-abled children, whose students have earned medals at state-level competitions.
Moreover, it runs a free dental care unit and physiotherapy clinic for patients.
The event was attended by several dignitaries, including Chandigarh Municipal Corporation Councillor Hardeep Singh Butrela, Councillor Manowar, branch incharge H.C. Gulati, volunteers Mahinder Singh and Nirmal Singh, film director Aujasvi, and Shiv and Vishal from the district court.
The celebration combined reverence with service, reaffirming Pingalwara’s founding ideals of compassion, inclusion, and community care.
