CHANDIGARH, May 11 — The Chandigarh Police have initiated an investigation following the discovery of a 25-year-old man’s body in the forest area of Sector 38. The deceased, identified as a local electrician, was found by passersby on Monday morning, prompting an immediate response from forensic teams and local law enforcement.
While a definitive cause of death has yet to be established, investigators stated that they are looking into a potential drug overdose based on preliminary evidence found at the scene. The body has been moved to a local hospital for a post-mortem examination, which officials affirmed will provide the necessary clarity for the case.
“The investigation is in its early stages and we are exploring all possible angles,” a police official stated. He affirmed that the department is waiting for the medical report before drawing any final conclusions regarding the nature of the death.
Family members of the deceased noted that he had left home for work as usual and had no known disputes with anyone in the locality. Police maintained that they are currently scanning CCTV footage from nearby entry points to the forest area to track the man’s final movements.
Authorities declared that they are committed to a thorough inquiry to determine whether any foul play was involved. They affirmed that a formal report would be registered once the autopsy findings are released later today.
