MUMBAI, May 7 — An IndiGo flight traveling from Chandigarh to Mumbai made an emergency landing at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport on Tuesday afternoon following a bomb threat, authorities said.

The alert was triggered after the airport’s hotline received a threat call, prompting an immediate security response.

“At 14:32 hours, the air traffic control declared a full emergency for IndiGo flight 6E-6382 due to a reported bomb threat,” a Mumbai airport source confirmed.

The flight, which landed safely at 14:57, was immediately diverted to an isolation bay for detailed inspection under standard security protocols. Authorities did not disclose the number of passengers on board.

“Following the emergency landing, a comprehensive security check was conducted on the aircraft. No suspicious item was recovered,” said a senior Mumbai Police officer.

All passengers were safely disembarked, and no injuries were reported. The nature of the threat call and the identity of the caller are under investigation.

“Such threats are taken seriously, and strict procedures were followed to ensure safety,” the official added.

The incident caused brief delays at the airport, though operations resumed smoothly after the aircraft was cleared.
