Jalandhar, January 18, 2025: A high-level meeting between the Border Security Force (BSF) and senior Punjab Police officers was held at BSF Headquarters in Jalandhar to address border security challenges in Punjab.
This marked the first major joint meeting of 2025, with supporting BSF agencies also participating.
Key issues discussed included curbing drug trafficking, countering the increasing threat of drone infiltration, and strengthening border security mechanisms.
ADGP Neelabh Kishore of the Punjab Police Anti-Narcotics Task Force and IG Dr. Atul Fulzele of BSF Punjab Range exchanged insights and outlined strategies for enhanced collaboration.
The discussions focused on resolving challenges faced in 2024 and improving security for the coming year.
Efforts to intensify investigations and address transnational crimes were also highlighted.
Meanwhile, Punjab Industries Minister Tarunpreet Saundh, visiting Khanna, announced that properties worth ₹150 crore have been confiscated from drug smugglers under the AAP government’s efforts to combat the drug menace.
Among these, ₹8 crore worth of property was seized in the Khanna police district.
