Chandigarh, July 2: The Punjab Department of Rural Development and Panchayats has officially notified the implementation of the Viksit Bharat-Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin) Scheme, Punjab 2026, bringing the new central labor framework into effect across all rural sectors. The operational order signed by the administrative secretary establishes a transitioned legal mechanism for unskilled manual work within the state. The updated provincial initiative aims to enhance livelihood security by expanding statutory provisions for eligible rural households.
The newly introduced administrative guidelines replace previous operational regulations, changing how local work projects are funded and registered. Under the fresh provisions, the state will focus heavily on employment generation, technological convergence, and complete saturation of welfare delivery systems.
“The newly notified scheme successfully extends the annual employment guarantee from 100 days under the previous system to 125 days in every financial year,” a senior rural development official declared. The representative affirmed that existing verified employment cards will remain temporarily valid during the transition to ensure that no individual faces a disruption in wages.
