Chandigarh AAP Vice-President Abha Bansal Resigns

CHANDIGARH, Aug 4– Chandigarh AAP Vice President Abha Bansal resigned from her post and relinquished primary membership, citing personal reasons. However, party sources indicate she was reportedly unhappy over the persistent neglect of grassroots workers, which may have triggered her decision.

This is AAP’s second high-profile exit within a week. Earlier, Chandramukhi Sharma, a two-time Chandigarh Congress president, quit AAP and rejoined the Congress in Delhi in the presence of Mallikarjun Kharge and MP Manish Tewari.

Bansal’s resignation is being seen as a serious organisational setback, with speculation mounting that one or two sitting AAP councillors may also switch loyalties in the coming days.

While senior AAP leaders attempted to downplay the developments, saying the resigning leaders were inactive for some time, insiders admit the party is witnessing internal churn and dissatisfaction ahead of key municipal and assembly alignments.
