Chandigarh, 24 December 2025: The Chandigarh Transport Undertaking (CTU) has introduced a special daily bus service from ISBT-17 to Prayagraj for devotees attending the Maha Kumbh, which runs until February 26.

The service was flagged off at ISBT-17 by UT Transport Secretary Diprava Lakra, Director Transport-cum-Divisional Manager Pradhuman Singh, and other senior officials.

The HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) bus will depart daily from counter number 26 at ISBT-17 at 12 pm, reaching Prayagraj’s Nehru Park by 7:25 am the following day. The return trip will start at 5 pm from Prayagraj, arriving back in Chandigarh at 12:25 pm the next day.

The 919-km journey will take approximately 19 hours and 25 minutes, with stops at Delhi, Sikandrabad, and Kanpur.

The one-way fare for this service is ₹1,662 per passenger. Tickets can be booked online through the CTU Musafir app, CTU’s official websites, and platforms such as RedBus. Online bookings are available until February 25.

“We aim to facilitate a comfortable journey for devotees traveling to Maha Kumbh from Chandigarh and neighboring areas,” said Lakra.

CTU also continues to provide regular bus services to neighboring states and popular religious destinations, including Ayodhya Dham, Salasar, Khatu Shyam, Vrindavan, Haridwar, and Katra.

Besides, Alliance Air has begun operating special flights from Shaheed Bhagat Singh International Airport to Prayagraj every Monday until February 26.

A dedicated 70-seater economy-class flight departs Chandigarh at 4:30 pm, landing in Prayagraj at 6:40 pm. Return flights leave Prayagraj every Wednesday at 5:15 pm and arrive in Chandigarh at 7:25 pm.

The first flight took off on January 13, marking the collaboration between ground and air travel options for Kumbh attendees.
