Jaipur, December 29, 2024: Authorities in Jaipur successfully averted a major disaster on Saturday after a chemical tanker filled with methanol overturned near the Sat Mata temple in the Chandbaji police station area. The district administration, along with brave Civil Defence volunteers, managed the situation quickly and effectively.
Civil Defence Deputy Controller Amit Kumar Sharma explained that upon receiving information, a Civil Defence team rushed to the scene. They worked in coordination with local police to stop traffic on both sides of the highway. The fire brigade applied foam to secure the tanker and carefully moved it to a safe location.
Given that methanol is a class three flammable liquid, the quick response prevented what could have been a hazardous situation. By 5:30 pm, after all precautions were taken, traffic was restored to normal on the highway.
