Gurdaspur, December 29, 2024: A significant update has emerged in the ongoing conflict between two groups in Gurdaspur Central Jail. Police have registered a case against 13 inmates from both sides following a violent altercation that occurred on January 26. The case was filed after a complaint from jail authorities, and action has been initiated.
The incident reportedly began with an argument and abusive language exchanged between jailed inmates Sahil Preet alias Sohi and Balwinder Singh Billi, who have an ongoing feud. During the altercation, another inmate, Gurmeet Singh Meeta, intervened. As the situation intensified, a jail guard activated the siren for assistance.
One prisoner, Gagandeep Singh, sustained severe injuries and was rushed to Civil Hospital Gurdaspur, while two others had minor injuries. Police from six different stations arrived at the scene to restore order. The police have now filed a case against 13 prisoners involved in the clash.
