Banur/Chandigarh, 11 October, 2024: Chitkara University has announced its inclusion in the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings 2025, achieving first place in research quality among Indian institutions and ranking within the 601-800 band globally out of over 2,000 universities.
Nationally, it secured the 9th position. The global ranking underscores the university’s performance in critical areas such as research quality and industry knowledge transfer.
Notably, Chitkara University’s citation impact places it among the top 139 institutions worldwide, highlighting its research contributions. The university’s strong industry connections, which foster innovation and practical research applications, have played a key role in attaining this recognition.
The Times Higher Education World University Rankings utilize a comprehensive methodology, assessing universities across five key pillars: teaching, research environment, research quality, industry, and international outlook. Research quality is given the most weight in these evaluations.
The methodology incorporates institutional data, academic reputation surveys, and bibliometric measures such as citation impact, providing a reliable measure of academic excellence and societal impact.
