Chandigarh, March 28: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann declared on Saturday that the state maintains a robust 14-day supply of petrol, diesel, and LPG, addressing recent public anxiety regarding fuel availability. Speaking at a press conference, the Chief Minister dismissed claims of an impending lockdown as “absolutely baseless,” citing recent high-level discussions with Prime Minister Narendra Modi as confirmation of stable national logistics.
The Chief Minister stated that the visible congestion at refueling stations was a direct result of panic buying rather than an actual deficit in resources. To ensure the public receives verified information, Mann affirmed that the state government has designated a specific nodal officer to coordinate with the media and counter misinformation.
“We have enough stocks for the next 14 days,” Mann asserted, noting that the administration remains in constant communication with oil company representatives. He maintained that these coordinated efforts are designed to ensure the seamless distribution of fuel across all districts without further disruption.
Government officials declared that the meeting with oil providers confirmed that supply chains remain fully operational. The Chief Minister urged residents to maintain their normal consumption patterns, stating that the current inventory is more than sufficient to meet the state’s requirements.
