Chandigarh, Feb 11: Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann met with Dr. Pushpinder Singh Gill, Vice Chancellor of Maharaja Bhupinder Singh Punjab Sports University, on Wednesday to outline a strategic transformation of the state’s athletic landscape. The meeting, held at the Chief Minister’s office in Chandigarh, focused on identifying young talent and modernizing training methodologies to restore Punjab’s status as a premier sports powerhouse.
During the discussion, the Chief Minister noted that sports serve as a vital tool for social discipline and progress. He mentioned that increasing youth participation in athletic activities is a key strategy for channelizing energy toward positive goals and protecting the younger generation from negative societal influences. Mann urged the Vice Chancellor to focus on strengthening the grassroots structure to ensure a steady pipeline of future champions.
