FARIDKOT, April 6 — Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Sunday dedicated a series of development projects worth ₹28.68 crore to the people of Jaito, underlining a commitment to transforming the region’s healthcare and civic facilities. The centerpieces of the announcement include the ₹8 crore conversion of the Jaito Community Health Centre into a modern 30-bed hospital and a new ₹2 crore sports stadium.
The Chief Minister also sanctioned ₹3.01 crore for a clean water pipeline project designed to serve 1,200 local households. During his address, Mann stated that these investments are part of a broader mission to realize the vision of Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh by prioritizing the needs of common citizens over political elites.
“The tax money of people is being judiciously spent on welfare, with people’s money returning through development, schools, hospitals, and roads,” the Chief Minister affirmed.
Mann contrasted the current administration’s performance with previous governments, noting that the state has successfully provided free electricity to 90 percent of households and generated over 65,000 jobs without the influence of corruption. He also highlighted the Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojna, which provides up to ₹10 lakh in free treatment for 65 lakh families.
“Education is the light that dispels darkness, which is why we are prioritizing it,” the Chief Minister declared, adding that freebies alone cannot eliminate poverty without the foundation of a strong school system.
