GHAZIABAD, July 19 — Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath met the family members of the late Dalit student Lalita Gautam on Saturday, asserting that the state administration will ensure the harshest legal punishment for everyone responsible for the heinous crime.
During the meeting at the PWD Guest House in Ghaziabad, the Chief Minister consoled the bereaved family and maintained that the government stands firmly with them. He declared that no person involved in the incident would be spared under any circumstances. Furthermore, he directed senior officials to initiate immediate action against any police personnel found negligent during the initial stages of the investigation.
To support the family, the Chief Minister directed the immediate release of Rs 5 lakh from the Chief Minister’s Discretionary Fund. He also instructed officials to provide housing to the deceased’s father and another eligible family member under the Mukhyamantri Awas Yojana. The administration has been tasked with ensuring priority access for the family to all eligible welfare initiatives, including the Ayushman Bharat Yojana and ration card benefits.
Following the discussion, the student’s father, Ved Prakash, and her brother, Prashant, affirmed their confidence in the ongoing process. They stated that the Chief Minister listened to their grievances with great compassion and patience, which strengthened their belief that no criminal would escape accountability.
Social Welfare Minister and Meerut District In-charge Minister Aseem Arun, along with senior administrative and police officials, attended the meeting.
