UP Medical Scheme Benefits 142 Teachers So Far

Mukhyamantri Shikshak Suraksha Cashless treatments worth over Rs 37 lakh approved in 10 days

LUCKNOW, July 18 — The newly launched Mukhyamantri Shikshak Suraksha Cashless Chikitsa Yojana has provided medical coverage to 142 teachers and their dependants within 10 days of its rollout, with total treatments amounting to approximately Rs 37.81 lakh already approved across the state.

CEO of SACHIJ, Archana Verma, affirmed that the rapid implementation ensures swift healthcare access for eligible educators. She stated that out of the total approved cases, 128 belong to the Basic Education Department, accounting for Rs 34.15 lakh of the total cost, while the remaining 14 cases pertain to the Secondary Education Department, involving an estimated expense of Rs 3.66 lakh.

Medical cases spanning 47 districts have received pre-authorizations since the initiative was introduced on July 8. Gorakhpur recorded the highest volume with 12 approved cases, followed closely by seven in Prayagraj, and six each in Jaunpur, Moradabad, and Varanasi. Financial allocations for treatments were led by Varanasi at Rs 3.19 lakh, followed by Gorakhpur at Rs 2.39 lakh and Prayagraj at Rs 2.21 lakh.

Officials maintained that the scheme effectively addresses a wide range of clinical needs, including serious medical procedures. Data shows that General Medicine accounted for the largest share with 52 cases, followed by 28 General Surgery cases, 15 Orthopedics cases, and nine Urology cases, alongside various approvals for oncology, neonatal care, and cardiology.
