Vehicle Hit Pedestrian Before Crashing Into Tea Stall; Police Initiate Comprehensive Inquiry

Jaito, Oct 3: A 20-year-old college student lost her life while two others sustained injuries after a high-speed vehicle struck pedestrians and crashed into a roadside establishment near the Jaito railway station on Friday evening.

The victim was identified as Arshpreet Kaur, a BCA student at DAV College, Bathinda, and resident of Hardayal Nagar, Jaito. Official reports stated that the incident occurred as Kaur was walking from the station area toward the main market when an incoming vehicle hit her. The out-of-control vehicle subsequently struck a nearby tea stall, causing injuries to the operator and his brother, who were both admitted to the local Civil Hospital for medical care.

DSP Jaito Iqbal Singh Sandhu affirmed that police authorities reached the location immediately and impounded the involved vehicle. Law enforcement officials declared that statements from the family members were being recorded and full legal proceedings would be conducted in accordance with established procedure. Officials maintained that a detailed investigation remains underway to establish the exact sequence of events leading to the collision.
