RUPNAGAR, July 30 — Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann asserted that the tradition of communal harmony and brotherhood remains the greatest strength of the state, stating that no seeds of hatred can ever take root in its fertile soil. Participating in the grand ‘Ek Sham Bhagwan Shiv Ke Naam’ Bhajan Sandhya held at the Government College grounds, the Chief Minister joined thousands of devotees in devotional chants while singer Hansraj Raghuwanshi performed hymns dedicated to Bhagwan Shiva.
Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister maintained that the government intentionally selected this historical land for the state level function to reflect deep respect for cultural and religious roots. He affirmed that the administration walks on the path of righteousness shown by great Gurus, saints, seers, and prophets.
“Our Government is committed to fostering peace, communal harmony and brotherhood in the state. We are walking on the path of righteousness shown by the great Gurus, saints, seers and prophets. Our focus is on empowering Punjab’s youth through quality education and skills so they can build a bright future. Anything can germinate on Punjab’s fertile soil, but the seeds of hatred can never grow on this sacred land,” CM Bhagwant Singh Mann stated.
The Chief Minister noted that the government maintains equal reverence for all faiths, recalling past observances like the 350th Shaheedi Diwas of Sri Guru Teg Bahadur Ji and mentioning upcoming preparations for the 650th Parkash Purab of Sri Guru Ravidass Ji. He declared that welfare initiatives, including expanded pilgrimage access under the Mukh Mantri Teerath Yatra Yojana to sacred sites across the country, ensure public funds serve all citizens regardless of caste or creed.
