Lucknow, July 30: Devotees of Lord Shiva view the month of Sawan as a period of deep penance and spiritual commitment. As millions prepare to walk barefoot carrying holy water across various routes, the Uttar Pradesh government led by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has completed preparations to welcome and assist the pilgrims throughout their journey.

Administrative arrangements have been coordinated across multiple departments to ensure a hassle-free environment for the pilgrims. Roads along the primary routes have been repaired, and continuous electricity, water supply, and medical stations are being established. Safety protocols include extensive CCTV surveillance, drone monitoring, deployment of extra police personnel at sensitive locations, and specialized teams placed near riverbank areas.

Health and hygiene facilities form a key part of the planned infrastructure. The administration has arranged anti-venom and anti-rabies treatments, rest shelters, clean toilet facilities, and adequate street lighting. Guidelines regarding the closure of meat and liquor shops along the route, alongside mandatory display of owner identification, have been outlined to maintain the sanctity of the pilgrimage. Furthermore, rules regarding sound limits for loudspeakers and DJs have been communicated to avoid public disruption.

Traffic management strategies feature alternative routes, diversion points, dedicated parking areas, and designated emergency corridors. To maintain peace, specialized teams will monitor social media to prevent the spread of misleading information, while inter-state coordination with neighboring jurisdictions including Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan, and Uttarakhand has been instituted.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath affirmed that basic facilities and administrative support must remain consistent across all districts, ensuring uniform service quality from western Uttar Pradesh to Purvanchal. Incorporating feedback from previous years, modern technological tools such as digital helplines and enhanced monitoring have been integrated to support the large influx of pilgrims. With these measures in place, the state mechanism aims to ensure security, dignity, and convenience for all participants throughout the holy month.
