Chandigarh/Delhi, Feb 10 – BJP national general secretary Tarun Chugh said the AAP government in Punjab is on the verge of collapse, claiming that Arvind Kejriwal’s governance model has been discredited following the Delhi Assembly election results.
Chugh stated that the much-promoted “Delhi model,” which Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann sought to implement, has been outrightly rejected by voters in Delhi.
“Kejriwal and his model have been thrown into the Yamuna by the people of Delhi,” he remarked.
Listing alleged scams under Kejriwal’s tenure, Chugh said the Delhi government deceived the public for a decade.
“The so-called model was nothing but a web of fraud, from the liquor scam to irregularities in scholarships, education, health, and the Jal Board,” he said.
He noted that people in Punjab have already realized their mistake in trusting AAP and are now prepared for its downfall.
He also pointed to the state’s deteriorating law and order, alleging that gangsters and mafias are operating freely while the government has failed on all fronts.
Responding to reports that Congress may seek support from AAP MLAs in Punjab, Chugh dismissed the party as “leaderless” and “on ventilator mode” after setbacks across the country.
Chugh added that the BJP has been a responsible opposition in Punjab and expressed confidence that the party will gain public support in the coming days.
