New Delhi, 11 October, 2024: An elderly couple in Rajasthan’s Nagaur died by suicide, allegedly due to harassment by their children over property, police said.
Their bodies were found in a water tank at their home on Thursday, along with a suicide note accusing their sons and daughters-in-law of mistreatment.
Narayan Togas, Nagaur’s Superintendent of Police, told ANI, “In the morning, their son contacted the police, saying neighbors had not seen his parents for two days and he feared they had taken an extreme step.”
Upon searching the area, police found the couple’s bodies.
A post-mortem is pending, and an investigation is underway.
