Faridabad, Jan 9: Haryana Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini on Friday took a firm stand on law and order, warning that police officers failing to control crime will face strict action, including demotion.

Speaking to reporters after a pre-budget consultation meeting in Faridabad, Saini said, “Those officers in police stations where crime is not effectively controlled will be held accountable. If necessary, strict action and demotion will be taken.”

He stressed that the Haryana Police is a capable force but urged officers to critically assess rising crime or drug smuggling in their areas. “It is the responsibility of the SPs and station in-charges to regularly review situations, identify the root causes of problems, and implement concrete solutions,” the CM said.

Saini also highlighted the importance of responding promptly to citizens’ complaints. “When common people, especially women, report crime or illegal activities, it is the duty of the police and administration to take immediate and effective action,” he added.

The Chief Minister directed officials to further intensify efforts against crime and drug abuse, aiming to ensure public safety and maintain effective governance across the state.
