New Delhi, 12 December 2024: The Delhi government has approved the Mahila Samman Yojana, offering financial assistance of Rs 1000 per month to women over 18 years old. The decision came during a cabinet meeting held this morning, overcoming earlier objections from the Finance Department.
A budget allocation of Rs 2000 crore has been set aside for the scheme in the current financial year. Aam Aadmi Party leader Arvind Kejriwal is expected to officially announce the scheme at 1 pm today, emphasizing its role in enhancing the safety and dignity of women in Delhi.
Eligibility criteria include:
Women not enrolled in any government pension scheme.
Non-government employees and non-income tax payers.
Applicants must submit a self-declaration form confirming their eligibility along with their Aadhaar card and bank account details.
The scheme aims to provide comprehensive support to underserved women in the capital.
