New Delhi, 8 February 2025: As the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) returns to power in Delhi, its leaders in Punjab took aim at the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), predicting the party’s decline in the state. Union Minister and BJP leader Ravneet Singh Bittu said Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann should “start packing his bags.”
“Arvind Kejriwal, Manish Sisodia, and Atishi’s Chief Minister house, ‘Sheesh Mahal,’ has now been vacated by the people,” Bittu told reporters.
“Bhagwant Mann should be prepared for what’s next. Today, the entire country is celebrating Delhi BJP’s victory. When the BJP comes to power in Punjab, no one will have to sell their house, property, or land to go abroad. Everyone will get work here. This is Narendra Modi’s vision.”
Punjab BJP chief Sunil Jakhar echoed Bittu’s remarks, asserting that Prime Minister Narendra Modi must now work to make Punjab “AAP-free.”
“Congratulations to Union Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP National President JP Nadda, and all BJP workers for making Delhi AAP-free under PM Modi’s leadership,” Jakhar posted on X.
“After 27 years, the lotus has bloomed in Delhi. Now, Punjabis are looking to the Prime Minister to end the atmosphere of fear in the state so people can live in peace.”
BJP general secretary Subhash Sharma called AAP’s loss in Delhi a rejection of Kejriwal’s leadership. “This is a defeat of Arvind Kejriwal’s lies and dishonesty. The people of Delhi have shown that you cannot rule for long by making false promises,” Sharma said.
He added that AAP leaders in Punjab should take this as a “lesson” and warned, “What they have done to Punjab in the past three years, their condition will be worse than what happened in Delhi today. The downfall of the AAP government in Punjab starts from today.”
Former MP and BJP leader Preneet Kaur said the results would impact Punjab as well. “We are happy that BJP is winning.
AAP kept talking about their ‘Delhi model,’ but their ‘Aam Aadmi Clinics’ failed here. They did not fulfill their promises.”
Meanwhile, BJP workers and leaders in parts of Punjab and Haryana erupted in celebrations as trends showed the party securing victory in Delhi.
