Ayodhya, 23 January 2025: Ayodhya saw massive gatherings on the first anniversary of the sacred Ram temple’ while braving dense fog and cold, thousands offered prayers and sought blessings.
The chants of ‘Jai Shri Ram’ echoed at the Ram temple, while devotees lined up on the Janmabhoomi road till late evening to glimpse Ram Lalla.
Security was tight, with Ayodhya divided into six zones and 17 sectors.
Ram Lalla was ceremonially installed on January 22, 2024.
Although the anniversary was traditionally marked on January 11, devotees returned on January 22 for commemorations per the English calendar.
Events, including a Rath Yatra from Maniramdas Cantonment, opened a 41-day ritual involving 1.25 lakh chants of ‘Shri Ram Rakshasutras.’
Notable crowds were also seen at Hanumangarhi, Dashrath Mahal, and Kanak Bhawan temples.
Chief priest Satyendra Das noted high participation across dates, reflecting the unifying spirit of this landmark celebration.
