Chandigarh, 18 January 2025: The highly anticipated film ‘Punjab ’95’, starring renowned Punjabi singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh, is set to release on February 7, 2025. Dosanjh recently unveiled the film’s intense first look, portraying human rights activist Jaswant Singh Khalra, with the caption, “I challenge the Darkness.”

‘Punjab ’95’ delves into the life of Jaswant Singh Khalra, who uncovered evidence of unlawful detentions and extrajudicial killings in Punjab during the 1980s, leading to his own disappearance in 1995.

The film faced significant challenges with the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), which initially recommended up to 120 cuts, including the removal of Khalra’s name and the film’s title.

Despite these hurdles, Dosanjh confirmed that ‘Punjab ’95’ will release without any cuts. The film’s teaser is scheduled for release on January 17, 2025, coinciding with the release of Kangana Ranaut’s ‘Emergency’.

Fans eagerly await this biopic, anticipating a powerful cinematic portrayal of Khalra’s life and legacy.
