Bathinda, 7 January 2025: An elderly couple was discovered dead with severe head injuries at their home in Badyala village near Rampura in Bathinda district on Monday night. The house had been ransacked, police confirmed.
Superintendent of Police (SP) Narinder Singh revealed the victims, identified as 66-year-old Gias Singh and 62-year-old Amarjit Kaur, were found after their son, who works in Delhi, alerted neighbors.
“The son raised the alarm when repeated calls to his parents went unanswered. Villagers entered the house and discovered the crime, informing the police,” SP Singh stated.
Authorities are investigating whether the crime was motivated by robbery or involved other factors. “Special teams have been assigned to solve the case,” the SP added.
