Chandigarh, July 16: The Election Commission has extended the schedule for the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls in both Punjab and Delhi, granting eleven and twelve additional days respectively to complete the verification processes. Under the newly adjusted timeline, the definitive voter list for Punjab is now scheduled for publication on October twelve, moving from its original October one deadline.
Administrative adjustments have also altered the field operations across both regions. The house-to-house verification phase conducted by booth-level officers in Punjab will now run until August three instead of concluding on July twenty-four. This comprehensive field exercise initially commenced across the state on June twenty-five.
The shift in preliminary milestones will subsequently defer the release of the draft electoral roll for Punjab to August thirteen, reconfiguring the subsequent public review phases. The revised window for citizens to file claims and objections will span from August thirteen to September twelve, with the formal disposal period for these applications concluding on October eight.
