Chandigarh, July 16: The Federal Bureau of Investigation has added an alleged India-linked operative to its most-wanted list, identifying him as a prominent member of a major transnational syndicate. Nitish Kaushal, who also operates under the alias Lala, faces multiple federal charges for his purported involvement with the Jaggu Bhagwanpuria organized crime group.

Federal authorities stated that the individual carried out severe offenses on behalf of the syndicate, including kidnappings and violent physical assaults. Law enforcement officials asserted that the wider criminal enterprise originated in Punjab before expanding its operational footprint across the United States, with a heavy presence noted in California.

A federal arrest warrant was formally issued by the United States District Court for the Central District of California following conspiracy charges under the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act. The agency declared that the suspect should be considered armed, dangerous, and a significant escape risk.

The security update follows a series of sweeping indictments unsealed by the United States Department of Justice under a multi-agency crackdown named Operation Hard Ball. This coordinated international enforcement effort involved judicial and policing bodies from the United States, Canada, and Europe. Prosecutors maintained that the operational sweep targeted three distinct transnational networks, including organizations tied to jailed figures Jaggu Bhagwanpuria, Lawrence Bishnoi, and their global associates.
