CHANDIGARH, August 29: Two Punjabi men have raised allegations of religious bias and systemic racism after being denied entry into a hotel facility in Salzburg, Australia, due to their turbans.
The incident surfaced after one of the individuals posted a video account of the experience online. Jaspreet Singh, a stock market trader based in Mohali, stated that hotel management refused to accommodate them, citing a pre-established internet dress code policy that bans turbans on the premises. He maintained that despite extensive international travel across Europe and other global destinations, he had never previously encountered such restrictions.
The affected travellers further affirmed that the hotel management declined to process a monetary refund for their pre-booked accommodation. Jaspreet declared that while forfeiting the refund money was secondary, operating under such restrictive entry guidelines amounts to clear discrimination.
