Chandigarh, November 25, 2024: The Punjab Animal Husbandry, Dairy Development, and Fisheries Department is set to establish a Euromin Lick Plant at the Government Cattle Breeding Farm in Rauni village, Patiala district, Animal Husbandry and Dairy Development Minister Gurmeet Singh Khudian announced.
Khudian explained that Uromin Liquid (UML) or Urea-Molasses Multi-Nutrient Blocks (UMMB) are nutrient-rich supplements containing energy, protein, and minerals. These blocks are crucial for improving the physical condition of livestock, enhancing reproductive abilities, and supporting the digestion of low-quality fodder.
To ensure accessibility, a storage unit for Euromin Lick blocks will be established in Kapurthala district, with distribution through government veterinary hospitals and dispensaries at affordable rates.
Principal Secretary of the department, Rahul Bhandari, described the initiative as a boon for Punjab’s cattle breeders, emphasizing its potential to increase milk production, improve reproductive efficiency, and boost the overall economy.
He urged farmers to incorporate this technique into their livestock’s diet under veterinary guidance to ensure balanced nutrition and better productivity.
This development marks a step forward in promoting sustainable and cost-effective livestock farming in Punjab.
