Chandigarh, 18 January 2025: The Medical Officer of Health (MOH) for the Chandigarh Municipal Corporation has requested the registration of an FIR against unidentified individuals for issuing counterfeit appointment orders bearing forged signatures.
In an official letter to the Sector 17 police station SHO, the MOH detailed the fraudulent activity discovered within the office. An employee, identified as Mandeep Singh, was found to have secured an appointment through a fabricated letter.
The fraudulent document, dated October 4, claimed Singh was appointed as an outsourced postman on medical grounds, with a joining date of November 15, 2024. It falsely bore the signature of the MOH, prompting the office to seek legal action.
Authorities are investigating the matter to uncover the individuals behind the forgery and ensure accountability.
