Fatehabad, 30 October 2024: In Fatehabad’s Karibhko Seva Kendra, farmers are grappling with a fertilizer shortage, impacting crucial wheat sowing.
On Wednesday, many farmers arrived at the center only to find it locked, fueling frustration, according to reports.
With Diwali just passed, farmers voiced their struggle to secure fertilizer, forced to visit multiple suppliers without success.
Prem Kumar of Chablamori village and Harminder Singh from Rajabad mentioned the ongoing issue, explaining that despite repeated attempts to obtain fertilizer, they’ve been redirected between commission agents, IFFCO, and other society centers.
For nearly a month, they’ve endured delays, and even when Karibhko Seva Kendra opens, it quickly closes, with staff citing other obligations.
Farmers shared that 200 of them had inquired about incoming fertilizer rakes, yet they remain unaware of its whereabouts. They stressed that without fertilizer, wheat planting is at risk, endangering future food supplies. Farmers are urging the state government and district administration to ensure sufficient fertilizer availability without further delay.
