Chandigarh/Panchkula, March 12 — A Chandigarh Police constable, identified as Sapna, was found dead inside her car at Mata Mansa Devi Complex (MDC) in Panchkula on Tuesday evening, officials said.
Police mentioned that there were no external injury marks on her body, and no foul play is suspected at this stage. However, an investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of death.
The car was locked from the inside, prompting officials to break a window to retrieve her body. She was shifted to Panchkula Civil Hospital for a postmortem examination.
Sapna, who was posted in the CID wing, was absent from duty on Tuesday. Police have informed her family and stated that further action will be decided after their statements and the postmortem report.
