Chandigarh, 21 November 2024: The Punjab Animal Husbandry Department has taken decisive action by dismissing five Veterinary Officers today, following prolonged absences from their duties.
The decision comes directly from Punjab Animal Husbandry Minister Gurmeet Singh Khuddiyan, who has expressed his displeasure over the officers’ repeated failure to report to work.
The dismissed officers include Dr. Anupreet Kaur, Dr. Gurpreet Singh, Dr. Arshdeep Singh, Dr. Jagdeep Singh, and Dr. Harmanpreet Singh Bal, all of whom had been absent for a period ranging from three to five years.
Principal Secretary of the department, Rahul Bhandari, confirmed the dismissals, stating that these officers had been posted across various districts in Punjab but had neglected their responsibilities for an extended period without any valid justification.
In response to the situation, Agriculture Minister Gurmeet Singh Khuddiyan issued a stern warning, stressing that any official absent from duty without prior approval of leave would face strict disciplinary action. He made it clear that such negligence would not be tolerated under any circumstances.
