Chandigarh/Bathinda, 12 November 2024: A dense fog blanket triggered a serious accident on the Chandigarh-Bathinda National Highway near Bhawanigarh early Tuesday.
A PRTC bus traveling from Sangrur collided with a truck carrying DAP fertilizer near the Balial cut, causing a loud explosion that startled nearby residents.
Initial reports indicate that around six people, including the bus conductor, sustained severe injuries.
Fortunately, no fatalities were reported. The injured were quickly rushed to the city government hospital for treatment.
Road Safety Force personnel arrived at the scene to assist in the relief operations.
The incident shows growing concerns about fog-related accidents as winter sets in.
