Kangra, April 1: Gaggal Airport in Himachal Pradesh’s Kangra district secured the top position in the Airports Authority of India’s (AAI) 2024 Customer Satisfaction Survey for domestic airports.
AAI Chairman Vipin Kumar presented the award to Gaggal Airport Director Dhirender Singh during the authority’s annual day event in New Delhi on Monday, officials said. Rajahmundry and Madurai airports ranked second and third, respectively.
Kumar said the top-ranked airports had set new benchmarks in passenger experience and service quality. The survey assessed more than 100 domestic airports across the country.
Singh mentioned that flights from Dharamshala to Dehradun and Jaipur had been approved by AAI and the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), with IndiGo Airlines expected to start operations on these routes soon.
“During the upcoming tourist season, 18 flights will connect Gaggal with Delhi, Chandigarh, and Shimla daily,” he added.
