Gender Gap in Panchkula Voter Turnout

Panchkula: During the Haryana assembly elections on Saturday, Panchkula district reported a significant gender disparity in voter participation, with more men voting than women.

The district, which encompasses the Kalka and Panchkula assembly segments, recorded an overall voter turnout of 65.22%. Kalka had a higher turnout of 72.07%, while Panchkula saw a lower rate of 59.4%.

Voting patterns from the district administration indicated that men participated more actively in both assembly segments.

In Panchkula, the male voter turnout was 61%, compared to 57.6% for women.

Even in Kalka, where turnout was better, the gender gap persisted, with 74% of men voting compared to 70% of women.
