Moga, Feb 10: Moga police have launched a manhunt for three motorcycle-borne attackers who opened fire on a group of migrant labourers on Tuesday, leaving one worker injured.
The shooting occurred on Zira Road as approximately ten labourers were heading for a meal after finishing their shift at a local factory. According to witnesses, the unidentified men arrived on a motorcycle and discharged three to four rounds at the group without any apparent provocation.
“Around 10 workers were going for a meal after their work when three unidentified men showed up and opened fire,” one of the labourers mentioned while describing the sudden attack.
The victim, identified as Ashok, sustained a bullet wound to his leg during the encounter. He was immediately rushed for medical attention and is currently reported to be in stable condition. Investigators noted a disturbing detail regarding the assault, stating that one of the assailants appeared to film the entire incident on a mobile device while the shots were being fired.
Moga police officials mentioned that multiple teams are now working to identify the suspects. “We are probing the case from all angles,” the police directly said, noting that investigators have already secured several clues from the scene.
Authorities are currently scanning CCTV footage from the surrounding Zira Road area to trace the escape route used by the motorcycle. While the motive remains unclear, officials noted that the attackers would be apprehended soon as the investigation progresses.
