Gurugram LPG Helplines Fail Residents

Consumers report non-functional numbers as administrative efforts to resolve gas shortage falter

Gurugram, March 14: Residents across Gurugram are facing increased frustration as official helpline numbers, intended to address the ongoing LPG supply crisis, have reportedly stopped responding. The district administration recently issued an advisory providing toll-free contacts for major oil companies, yet citizens asserted that these lines offer no actual relief.

The crisis, which has impacted the wider Delhi–NCR region, has left numerous households without cooking gas for extended periods. While the administration directed consumers to report delivery delays or refusals, repeated attempts to reach the provided numbers by both residents and media representatives have been unsuccessful.

“What kind of joke is this? These are centralized helpline numbers of oil companies which have been defunct for the last three days,” declared Praveen Malik, President of the United Association of New Gurugram. He maintained that the administration’s attempt to streamline complaints has failed because the infrastructure is non-responsive.

A senior district official, speaking on the condition of anonymity, acknowledged the breakdown in communication. The official stated that authorities have received a surge of complaints regarding the dead phone lines and maintained that the matter is currently being addressed with the oil companies.

The advisory had listed specific contact points for Bharat Gas, Indane, and HP Gas. However, with those channels closed, families have been forced to seek alternative cooking arrangements. Residents have now called upon the government to ensure these helplines are functional to prevent further hardship during the shortage.
